Three months ago, I had an FUE hair transplant at Advanced Hair Restoration Chicago to increase density in my crown and the front third of my scalp as well as to move my hairline slightly forward. About 1,600 grafts were harvested & transplanted. I was very pleased with the person who harvested the grafts. I wear my hair short and was concerned about visible thinning in the donor area. She listened carefully and harvested from a wider zone. She also was meticulous in her extraction to make sure the hair that remained in the donor area was consistent. Advanced Hair has also been excellent about communication. The staff is responsive, easy to reach, and has continued checking on my progress after the procedure. My experience with Dr. Zadnik was more mixed. One issue involved the hairline, and we wrestled about the placement. I understand why a surgeon may want to be conservative, and I had researched the risks as well as long-term considerations carefully. It took about ten minutes of discussion before we agreed, but ultimately I did get the hairline I wanted. I advise future patients to discuss the exact hairline shape and position with the doctor well before surgery. My larger concern was the distribution of the grafts. In the crown, the grafts were placed in a defined oval. In the front, they were concentrated in roughly a two-inch band. I had specifically said that I wanted the density in the frontal third to blend gradually backward. My crown was not a bald patch. It was simply thinner in the center and gradually became denser outward, so I expected the graft placement to follow that natural pattern. When I later raised this concern, Dr. Zadnik explained that concentrating the grafts would give me more bang for the buck because he had about 1,600 grafts to work with. I understand the reasoning, but I wish this had been discussed with me before surgery. I had adequate donor hair and was willing to pay for more grafts if that was necessary to achieve the result I wanted. I do want to give Dr. Zadnik credit for the technical work of making the recipient sites. He worked very quickly and was extremely precise. The spacing and angles of the incisions are natural and consistent. I am impressed. Prospective patients should know that recovery can look much worse before it looks better. I experienced significant shock loss. Patches of hair fell out in the donor area, and I also lost a large amount of my natural hair in the recipient areas. More than half of the hair in my crown fell out. In the front, roughly a third fell out, and I have been wearing a baseball cap for three months. For the first two months, I almost looked like I underwent chemo. That stage has abated, and the transplanted hairs have begun to grow as well as the natural hair lost from shock loss. I anticipate greater growth in the next several months. However, from this point, I believe I can imagine the final result, and I think it will look good. The only problem I foresee is that on close inspection, people will be able to see a definitive change in hair density due to the doctor's failure to blend grafted hair into my scalp. I give Advanced Hair Restoration 4 out of 5 stars.

This post comes 24 hours after my operation and I’d like to preface that I never leave reviews. But I had a really great experience and wanted to thank the team, and to describe it for those considering this clinic. I was very impressed by this clinic from the beginning. I could clearly see they have excellent resources and equipment. I also had up to 8 people involved in my care, which is incredible. Everyone made an effort to make a personal connection, and I didn’t feel like I was just a bag of money for them to collect. All the staff were supportive and answered all my questions, comfort and safety were obvious priorities. To Aleks, Stephanie, Vanessa, Samantha, Alicia, Steven, and Josh, thank you! Dr. Zadnik was very friendly and professional and it was easy to be comfortable around him. Most importantly for me, he listened to my concerns and my goals and collaborated in creating my new hairline. He also gave me a courtesy call to make sure I was safe getting home. The clinic treated my girlfriend, who made the long trip with me, in the same manner they did myself. This was a corrective procedure for me and the quality of care exceeded my prior experience ten fold and I wish I used this clinic for my first procedure. While I don’t have results yet, I can visibly see a difference in density, design, and coverage that my last operation lacked. This clinic is very client centered, and transparent. While transplants are expensive, the cost per graft here is more than fair and you aren’t roped into sketchy package deals; they are explicit about graft count and usage. Recommended 10/10.

The staff here made my experience very enjoyable and made it as smooth as possible. They were knowledgeable and guided me every step of the way. Vanessa, Evelyn, and Heidl answered every question I had during the procedure and catered to whatever I needed to ensure I was as comfortable as possible. They were fun to be around and had a great attitude, which it all the more relaxing for me. Dr. Martin Zadnik ensured I was well taken care of during and afterward the procedure. I also wanted to shoutout Jenny for being so kind in helping me out as well. She helped me along the way. I would very much recommend Advanced Hair clinic to anyone considering treatment. An absolutely phenomenal experience. Some of the kindest and most accomodating staff imaginable. Extremely knowledgeable, professional, and above all- relatable. Everyone on the team, from reception to surgeon was incredible and made me feel like a friend. The procedure itself couldn't have gone smoother. They walked me through the entire process beforehand, and insured I was comfortable and taken care of during the surgery, right down to helping curate an exceptional playlist to listen to throughout. I did the FUE hair restoration and it was a breeze. Painless, efficient, and stress free. This is my second FUE restoration, but my first time with Advanced Hair and I couldn't be happier with the experience so far. I'm 3 weeks out from the procedure and the healing process and recovery has been great. I would recommend Advanced Hair in Oakbrook to anyone considering the procedure.

You can immediately tell this team has worked together for a long time. Everyone was in sync, confident, and efficient, which made the entire experience feel smooth and stress-free. There was also a great sense of humor and light joking throughout the day that helped keep things relaxed and comfortable without ever feeling unprofessional. Dr. Zadnik and his team were attentive, knowledgeable, and clearly take pride in their work. The care, precision, and positive energy really stood out. I felt well taken care of from start to finish and couldn’t be happier with my experience or the results so far. Highly recommend.
