I Went to Dr. Shah for a FUE in early June. I did extensive research and stumbled upon him. I was very impressed by his knowledge and prior work. The FUE went as smooth as can be. I’m about 16 days post op and have recovered easily. I was rather nervous to get this done but he made it easy. He has world class results and very reasonable pricing. He does the entire procedure himself. His method is very non traumatic and you heal very quickly. I highly recommend Dr. Shah if you are considering a FUE. I’m excited for the full result.
I have been looking to do a hair transplant for over 10-15 years - always putting it off because "they" were just around the corner from a scientific breakthrough to cure balding. Finally, I was tired of waiting. I live in California so I started with the Beverly Hills doctors assuming they should be the best in the world. I met with the top two and was just not impressed. With the advent of TikTok and Instagram, I found myself very excited to fly to Turkey which is allegedly the hair transplant capital of the world. Most were hair mills which honestly would have probably been fine but I didn't want to risk it. Finally, I found "THE" hair transplant surgeon of Turkey and did the consult and all but booked my flight. Long story short (I realize that I may have missed that opportunity already) I had a literal spreadsheet comparing the top 10 surgeons I found with all of their pros and cons from all my research. I wanted to double check my data before booking. One doctor made his way on my list and I don't even recall how and that was Dr. Shah. A month later, I found myself in New Jersey for the first time in my life (if you're from California you know that New Jersey might as well be the moon) at BKS and I could not be more pleased. Dr. Shah's bedside manner, knowledge, communication, and skill are absolutely unmatched with any doctor or clinic I had ever found. Fresh out of surgery and I cannot express my gratitude enough to him. If you know anything about the hair transplant world, once a great surgeon gets well known, he becomes extremely difficult to book with. I am certain this will be the case with Dr. Shah in the not too distant future.
I underwent a hair transplant with Dr. Shah in June 2025, and I’m now about 8–9 months out. The results have been fantastic. When I first started exploring hair transplant options, I assumed I would need to travel out of state or even abroad. While researching surgeons online, I came across Dr. Shah’s clinic in South Jersey. I learned that Dr. Shah is developing a strong reputation, has consistently positive reviews, and trained under a very well-regarded hair transplant doctor. He also performs the entire procedure himself, which is uncommon, and his pricing is very reasonable for a U.S.-based doctor. My procedure took place over three days. I had initially worried that this three day procedure might be painful or exhausting, but it was manageable. The lidocaine injections were much easier than I expected. We took multiple breaks during each day, and the surgery was less daunting than anticipated. After the surgery, he was extremely quick to respond to any questions/concerns via email and text. I had approximately 3k grafts placed, mostly in the frontal area and hairline, with some in the crown. The grafts grew in extremely well. Noticeable growth started around the 3-month mark, and by 6 months, it started to look great. The result looks very natural, and even my barber is impressed. I'd definitely recommend consulting with Dr. Shah if you're considering a hair transplant!
When it comes to having a Hair Transplant, it’s important that you do an immense amount of research into who is performing your procedure. I’ve had about three consultations with three different hair transplant doctors before meeting Doctor Shah. A couple things went into my decision with choosing Doctor Shah: -When completing the consultation, he didn’t rush me, he took his time to listen to me and walked me step by step about what the procedure would look like. He gave me reasonable expectations of what to expect and gave me a precise amount of grafts needed to have sufficient coverage. Other doctors that I visited high balled the amount of grafts for both increasing the amount of money they could make while also over covering the effective area. Doctor Shah wanted to make sure only what was needed was used to ensure proper coverage of the donor area as well. -He completes the procedure himself. This is the most important question to ask in my opinion when getting consultations. If you ask most doctors, they either have their specialist complete the work who are training under them where they will periodically check in or they will hire third party to come in and they will supervise the procedure. In my mind, if I’m putting forward a good amount of money, I wanted the doctor to be heavily involved. Doctor Shah did the procedure himself and was extremely professional every step of the way. -The price was right. Doctor Shah makes sure he runs his business, but doesn’t extort or inflate his prices like other doctors may do. His prices were fair and reasonable. -He checks in with you and gives you his personal number to ask for pictures, check in’s, and responds immediately whenever you have a question. He was incredibly supportive the entire way. -The only thing that made me hesitant when choosing Doctor Shah was having the procedure completed over the course of three days (I had a lot of grafts that needed to be completed). My initial thought was “Well after the first day my head is going to be incredibly sensitive and I’m going to be in pain the second or third day.”. This is not the case. You’re well medicated for any pain, and the second/third day was just as normal as the first. Do your research. Ask the right questions. When you do, you’ll realize that Doctor Shah is a great choice and a great surgeon. Pictures posted are 6 months progress. Full progress can be seen after 1-1.5 years for reference.
I had my hair transplant procedure with Dr. Bhumik Shah at BKS Hair Restoration in December 2024, and now, almost a year later, I am beyond thrilled with the results. The process started about two months prior to the surgery during a consultation. Dr. Shah immediately set himself apart; he isn't a salesman. There was no flashiness or pushy tactics. He takes a strictly scientific and medical approach to hair loss rather than treating it as a superficial cosmetic product. He laid out a realistic plan to address my thinning, which involved 3,345 grafts total (donors taken from the back/sides of the scalp and 710 grafts from my beard). One of the biggest deciding factors for me was Dr. Shah’s assurance that he would be the one performing the surgery, not delegating it to assistants. This was huge. I felt I was getting my money’s worth, and more importantly, nothing was "lost in translation." The plan we agreed on was implemented exactly by his hands. He prioritizes a natural look, focusing on randomness in the hairline so it never looks like "doll hair." The procedure itself took about 3.5 to 4 days. He worked in split shifts—extracting grafts in the morning and placing them in the afternoon. The anesthesia injections were unpleasant (a sharp pinch), but manageable, and I felt nothing after that. His work is incredibly precise; immediately post-op, the scabs looked neat, almost like a 5 o'clock shadow on my scalp, with no major bleeding or scarring. I had some minor swelling around the eyes and forehead for a day or two, but recovery was very smooth. I made the personal decision not to take medication (Finasteride/Minoxidil) as I knew I wouldn't have the discipline for it and accepted I might need a touch-up later. Dr. Shah prepared me for what this meant: a slower timeline. The "ugly duckling" phase hit hard around weeks 3-4 and lasted about 5 months. I had patchy growth and shock loss, but because Dr. Shah had set the expectations right from the start, there was never any panic. Around the 6-month mark, the density started kicking in. From there, it just kept getting better. Now, at the one-year mark, the results are better than I could have hoped for. Dr. Shah in my opinion is the best at what he does—from planning and responsiveness to his hands-on surgical skill and post-op care. At the risk of clogging up his schedule, I would say he should be the only option for anyone who decides to address their hair loss.
