Don’t bother looking elsewhere for a hair transplant surgery. Dr Diep and his team of professionals are the best you’ll ever find, without question. My life was forever altered because of Dr Diep, and the same results are absolutely possible for anyone reading this. His dedication to his patients success is second to none, and you’ll never regret booking a consultation and surgery. He’s the absolute best!
My results from Dr. Diep are very disappointing. The transplanted hair was very sparsely placed and the hairline itself looks like it was done by a robot as it was placed in a completely rigid straight line. There's a very obvious difference between my transplanted hair and my natural hair and as a result my hair looks completely unnatural. I've learned how to style my hair in ways that can somewhat hide the problems, but I'm always conscious of the wind and how greasy my hair is getting because it will make clear the facade I have to keep up. If the poor technique was the only issue it would be one thing. However my whole experience was wrought with red flags I wouldn't be truly aware of until I was already deep into the process. To start, the hairline was not discussed until just before the operation. Dr. Diep draws out the hairline with a thick sharpie that's hard to tell where exactly the hairline is meant to be. He then drew out additional area on the sides of my head he wanted to add that I believe would have looked terrible given the sparse hair placement he ended up doing. Not to mention that he gains more payment for transplanting more hairs. Late in the operation I woke up while being worked on and began moving around uncontrollably while drugged. The assistant told me stop moving but I responded strangely due to my drugged state and didn't stop moving. I heard Dr. Diep tell everyone that they'll just end it there and stopped any more work on me. I wonder if more work would have been done on my hairline to make it look less straight had this not occurred. And I worry that I was charged for hairs taken out of the back of my head that were not placed back onto the front. Unfortunately I will never know. What makes this worse is that Dr. Diep then sends an additional bill after your initial payment if he has to take out more hairs than is estimated. I got an additional bill of roughly $2000 a few months after the surgery that I was told to pay. There is no way of knowing the validity of this bill, you simply have to accept it. And I don't even know if these additional hairs were placed back onto my head due to the early ending of the surgery. There was a follow-up meeting months later after the surgery where he checks the results. By this point I had already learned how to style my hair to hide the failures in his work. I brought up these issues and he dismissed them away and mostly just seemed disappointed that I did not give permission on his forms for him to film the results and put up on YouTube. He will have this post removed saying my complaints are not coming from a verified source and that this is just being made up. I'm too ashamed to put fully identifiable information out here. I don't want people I know to potentially see this. I would simply say to look somewhere else that isn't so hasty and arbitrary with their process. I still feel scammed by this and know I would need another surgery to fix his mistakes.
It's been over a year since my hair transplant with Dr. Diep and the results have been very good. I had a FUT operation with about 3,800 grafts. My hairline is natural and full and looks great. An added bonus is that because the hair that was taken from the back had not greyed yet, my hairline became noticeably browner as the grafted hairs mixed in with my grey. It was like a free permanent hair dye came along with the transplanted hairs! I was fortunate in that I had almost no "ugly duckling" period, my grafts did not fall out, but grew (slowly at first, then more rapidly) the entire time and by month three post-surgery my hairline was full. Dr. Diep had given me an "A-cell" shot which may have helped with this. The improvement in my hairline improved my self-confidence immensely. I felt confident enough to do things I was too embarrassed to do previously, and my life has literally changed tremendously for the better as a result. I do have to be honest here and say that while the procedure itself was fairly easy to endure, mostly because I was knocked out for most of it, recovery was painful and difficult. A very large suture along the back of one's head takes a long time to heal and for several weeks I had a very hard time sleeping or feeling comfortable. So do not undertake this procedure without realizing that you will have to sacrifice some comfort and that there will be downtime while you recover. However, all of that feels like a distant memory now, a year later, when that short period of discomfort has led to a lifetime of improved hairline. Well worth it!
Dr. Diep has done a phenomenal job! Its been 18 months since my hair transplant and I am completely satisfied with my results! Dr. Diep and his team were very nice and helpful and my surgery went smooth. Also, my hair transplant/hairline looks very natural. Nobody has ever questioned me about getting a hair transplant.I highly recommend Dr. Diep for hair restoration
I first noticed my hair loss shortly after graduating college. It was not very dramatic in the beginning, so I dismissed it. However, as time progressed, it became worse and worse. My crown and vertex lost so much density that I felt and looked 10 years older; I was only 25 at the time. Hair means something different from one individual to the next. For me, it felt like I was losing a part of myself (quite literally, I suppose) and my identity and confidence took a hit. I thought I was doomed to suffer this fate, being dealt a losing hand in terms of the genetic lottery, until I stumbled upon hair transplant videos on YouTube. I fell down a rabbit hole, and thus began my hair transplant journey. I scoured the internet – forums, reviews, reddit, you name it – for potential doctors that I felt comfortable with. After all, this was going to be a big investment. Fast forward, and I eventually decided on Dr. Diep. This was due to several reasons. Firstly, he was one of the few doctors who had posted videos of his work before surgery, 6 months post-surgery, and 12 months-post surgery. If they say pictures are worth a thousand words, then videos are like full blown novels. Secondly, Dr. Diep seemed to have worked with a wide variety of hair types in his YouTube videos – Caucasians, African Americans, Asians, Hispanics; this was a definite plus. I am Asian myself, so my hair is thinner, and it was very important to me that the hair transplant doctor knew how to work with my hair type. I finally took the plunge and scheduled a consultation. I was classified as having a Norwood 3A hair loss pattern. Much to my surprise, he was fully booked and the earliest date they could squeeze me in was April of next year! I was a bit bummed, but I guess all good things are worth the wait. During my time leading up to the surgery date, I corresponded with the office regarding paperwork, payments, and any general questions. For the most part it was fine, a bit disorganized at times, but nothing major. It was mostly repeated questionnaires or notifications, but hey over communicating is better than under communicating right? So, on the big day, I arrived for my 2,500 FUE procedure bright and early. The office was clean and tidy, and the receptionist was very warm. She had me fill out any remaining paperwork and asked me to select my lunch option from restaurants nearby, which was quite unexpected since it was on the house. After a short wait, I met with Dr. Diep to go over the procedure details. He had excellent bed-side manners and was very thorough. He took the time to listen to my concerns and made it a point to ask what was most important to me when drawing up the lines for where to place my transplanted hair follicles. After I took my pre-op medication, we started the procedure. I was partially sedated but still semi-conscious. Dr. Diep personally extracted all my hair follicles (which I read is the most important part), and continuously monitored my pain level throughout. If I started to feel pain, he would reapply the local anesthesia. We took a break for lunch, and in the afternoon, several technicians implanted the extracted hair follicles per Dr. Diep’s design. After wrapping up, the office gave very specific post-op care instructions and sent me home with some meds, gauze, liner pads, and a hat to cover up my scalp. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience and even more so with the results. I highly recommend Dr. Diep to anyone who has been thinking about doing a hair transplant but is on the fence; it changed my life. I can go on and on, but it is mush easier to just show the results.
