I had an outstanding and positive experience undergoing an FUT procedure at Dr Russell Knudsen’s clinic in Double Bay. That journey started with Debbie Krnak, Practice Manager, who is a highly professional, incredibly efficient and friendly first point of contact. Debbie sets an excellent tone for the entire process. On the day of the procedure, the nurse practitioners were absolutely incredible, very patient, gentle, caring, and attended to my every comfort. Dr Knudsen’s team is world-class, and they made the entire day smooth and stress-free, and I obtained an amazing result! Many thanks as always to a great team.
I have been a client of Dr Knudson for over 20years, of which during that time he has monitored my thinning hair and receding hairline. My diagnosis is male pattern baldness. I finally decided to have some graft implants to thicken hair on the top of my head and profile my receding forehead hair. The operation was successful and much less intrusive to what I had imagined. I had some minor discomfort for 24-48hrs and within 3weeks you wouldn't even suspect that an operation had been performed. My experience with the clinic was excellent. The level of professionalism, wealth of knowledge and care from Dr Knudson and his wonderful team made the trip to Sydney seem like a holiday. I would highly recommend this practise if you are looking for experience, expert advice, and hair implant surgery.

I recently had an FUT hair transplant at the Knudsen Clinic in Double Bay, Sydney, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. As a female considering a hair transplant, I found there was very limited information available, which left me with a lot of questions and uncertainty. From my very first consultation, the team at Knudsen Clinic were incredibly supportive—every question I had was answered in a timely, thorough, and genuinely understanding manner. I never felt rushed or dismissed, which made such a difference in building my confidence to go ahead with the procedure. On the day of the surgery, everything ran smoothly and efficiently. The staff were warm, attentive, and very reassuring throughout the entire process. I was quite nervous, but their calm and professional approach really put me at ease. The clinic itself is immaculate and very well organised, and I felt I was in highly experienced and capable hands. My recovery has been exactly as explained, and the post-procedure care has been excellent. I was given clear, detailed instructions and have felt well supported every step of the way. It’s clear the team genuinely cares about their patients and achieving the best possible outcomes. I had very thin hair and significant bald patches around my crown from a condition called trichotillomania. Dr Knudsen came to me highly recommended from respected acquaintances within the medical profession. As other reviewers have noted Dr Knudsen's bedside manner is not great, but I care more about a surgeon's competency rather than their communication skills and in the consultations leading up to the surgery Dr Knudsen seemed professional and knowledgeable. Three months prior to my surgery Dr Knudsen had me wear a laser light helmet, this was fantastic advice, and about 80-90% of my hair grew back. I should not have proceeded with the FUE surgery. I was most disappointed that Dr Knudsen did not do the surgery himself. In the first week post surgery I thought about 1/3 - 1/2 of the transplanted follicles along my hair-line fell out. Dr Knudsen assured me that whilst the hairs may fall out the follicles should be fine. In my 6 month post operation consultation Dr Knudsen was genuinely concerned and agreed that my hair was worse off than it was pre surgery. 7 years on, I have overcome trichotillomania, the areas where I had surgery are the only areas of my hair that remain thin and some hairs stick straight up rather than at an angle consistent with the surrounding hairs. I cannot comment on the transplant skills of Dr Knudsen, but I would certainly question the expertise of his apprentices. I think it was unethical of him not to perform the surgery himself considering the large costs involved. I also believe as a professional he should have recognised that the laser light was all I needed.
